Privacy
The public site is intentionally simple, and Denframe is being built around local household control.
Public website
This website currently has no accounts, advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. The hosting provider may process routine request and security data needed to deliver the site. Google Cloud Storage processes routine download request data when delivering installer files; household data is not uploaded as part of downloading Denframe.
Submitting to the Denframe Library
- The Submit an asset page checks your file locally, in your browser, and draws its previews there. Neither the file nor what you type is sent to this website.
- Submissions are public GitHub issues or pull requests. What you write, the file you attach and your GitHub account name can be read by anyone, and GitHub handles them under its own privacy statement. Leave out personal and household data.
- The page has no contact field. The review answers on the issue.
The Denframe Library in Denframe
If you use Add to my Denframe, the site stores your Denframe's address only in this browser's own storage, so it can open your Denframe next time. It is never sent to this website or anyone else; Forget this address removes it.
Denframe fetches the Denframe Library only when you ask it to — when you check for new items, get one or update one — and sends nothing about your home: no dashboards, sources, readings, screens or account details go with those requests.
Denframe software
Denframe is designed to keep core configuration and household activity on the local host. Any future optional online service will describe its data use before it is enabled.
Update notice
- The desktop app can tell you when a newer beta is out. The setting, Tell me when a beta update is out, is off until you turn it on, in Studio under Screens & rotation.
- When it is on, Denframe asks denframe.com for its public list of desktop releases, the same file the downloads page reads, at most once a day, restarts included. The request is a plain download of that file: no query string, no cookies, and no header but the file type it accepts and the name Denframe. It sends nothing about your home.
- Denframe keeps only the newer version and its notes link, in memory, and shows them on Home. It never downloads or installs an update. Home Assistant and container installs don't offer the setting.
Your photos in Denframe
- Photos you add from a phone or copy from Google Photos are stored on your Denframe only, as a screen-sized copy and a thumbnail, without the photo's original file or its metadata such as location. Nothing is sent to us.
- Add from your phone shows a QR code holding a one-time code that waits at most 15 minutes. It lets that phone add photos to one album, from your home network, for 15 minutes; it cannot see, list or delete anything. Closing the sheet ends it.
- From Google Photos copies only the photos you pick in Google's own picker. Denframe asks Google for access to those picks alone, keeps no lasting access (no refresh token), and forgets the sign-in when the copying ends. It can't see the rest of your library, and it doesn't stay connected.
- Remove the copies deletes a Google Photos album and the copies in it from your Denframe.
Denframe panel displays
The Denframe panel app has no analytics or supplier-cloud client. It connects to your Denframe host on the local network to pair, show dashboards, report display health and receive host-served app updates. Optional household providers and media sources can still require their own network services.
On Android, the app saves its display credential, the last resolved dashboard and profile, and up to 64 queued touches in encrypted local storage. The scene and queue share a 256 KiB limit. A separate app-private cache holds up to 200 MiB of dashboard media and the files needed to open the display offline. Cached household information can remain visible while the host is unavailable; queued actions expire after 24 hours.
Native reset and confirmed unpairing clear these caches and credentials. A disconnected display learns about remote unpairing when it reconnects. Browser demos retain offline scene and queue state only for the current page. Display-health reports stay on your host; Denframe does not automatically send them to us. Supplier firmware and Android services are separate software whose data practices must be checked for the chosen unit.

This notice will be expanded before public accounts, purchases, or support submissions are introduced. Material changes will be dated on this page.
