Denframe with Home Assistant

Bring selected Home Assistant values to Denframe, or share Denframe scenes, speaker mute and short summaries with Home Assistant through MQTT.

A wall display for your Home Assistant home

Denframe turns a TV, a Nest Hub or an Android panel into a calm wall display: the Home Assistant readings you select sit beside the calendar, the weather and art, sized for the room.

Denframe reads those entities on the host with a Home Assistant access token that never leaves it; the screens only show what the host renders. Sharing Denframe scenes, mute switches and summaries back to Home Assistant goes through your MQTT broker, is off by default and is verified against Home Assistant Core 2026.9.1.

Experimental add-on

Read values or share Denframe entities

  • Select the entities that are appropriate for a shared display
  • Operate approved lights and switches from Denframe, one approval per device and operation (experimental)
  • Export Cast presets and dashboard activations as Home Assistant scenes
  • Share observed mute switches, playback status and selected Glance summaries
  • Choose supported scenes, switches and Android Auto sensor favorites in the official Companion app
  • Keep integration credentials on the local Denframe host

Set it up

Install the experimental Home Assistant app, or connect sensor values to an existing Denframe host. To send Denframe actions and summaries in the other direction, follow Share Denframe with Home Assistant. For Apple Home through Home Assistant, try the experimental Apple Home guide.

Local-first boundary

Export is off by default and requires owner approval, an existing MQTT broker and an export-capable build. No public export download is announced. Automotive hardware, Windows export and installed Supervisor-app validation remain pending; registration does not add favorites automatically.
