Choose what a screen may show
Keep private events off a screen in a shared room, give children's screens bigger pictures, and show calendars as times only when guests come or hide the screen at night.
Each screen showing only what suits the room it is in, whichever dashboard plays on it.
- A screen showing a dashboard: a Chromecast or Nest Hub, a TV's web browser or an Android wall panel.
Follow these steps in your own Denframe. This website never connects to your household, your accounts or your devices, and never asks for your credentials.
Open the screen's settings
In Studio, open Screens & rotation, then Calibrate the room, and choose the screen in the Screen picker. These settings belong to the screen, so they hold for every dashboard it shows.
Set how private it may be
Profile maximum sensitivity caps what the screen shows: Public, Household or Private. Profile private events says how private calendar events read there: In full, Without titles, Times only or Hidden.
Each dashboard has the same two in Dashboard settings…, as Privacy and Private events. The stricter of the dashboard and the screen always wins, so a dashboard never shows more than its screen allows. See Family calendar.
Show one person's view
On a wall display's screen page, Whose view it shows chooses Whole household or one person, so a child's room shows that child's events and lists.
Make it easy for children
In Calibrate the room, turn on Kid mode: bigger pictures, a clock face beside times, names in words.
On a touch screen, Ask before marking things done on this screen stops a passing hand from ticking someone's list.
Hide things for a while
Privacy mode on the Calendar page makes every calendar show times only, on every screen at once: each event reads as a busy time, with no title. Use it when guests come. A context rule can turn it on for you with Turn on privacy mode; see Playlists and schedules.
For the night, Use an overnight screen window in Calibrate the room pauses, dims or hides the screen on a schedule; see Keep a screen looking right.
Check it worked
Preview a dashboard with a private event on that screen: the event reads as the screen allows, or not at all. With Privacy mode on, every calendar on every screen shows times only.
If it doesn’t work
A private event still shows
Check the screen's Profile maximum sensitivity and Profile private events, and the dashboard's Privacy: the stricter wins, so one of them allows it.
Private events never show anywhere
That is the default. They show only where both the dashboard's Privacy and the screen's Profile maximum sensitivity are Private.
Ask before marking things done on this screen can't be turned on
It needs Allow on-screen touch controls (requires a touch-capable screen) on first.
